MEMTEK,LLC is a company that has as its aim the development, implementation and marketing of the novel Non-Volatile Mmories.

One such technology is the highly reliable SimpleEE Non-Volatile cells and technology,ideally suited for embedded applications, patented by Dr. John Caywood, which are uniquely suited for applications in the embedded field.

This technology currently has multiple licensees and has been successfully implemented in multiple fabs and multiple technology nodes. The users include:

Microchip Technology, Inc.:-----for use in microcontroller applications;
Medtronics, Inc. :------------------for use in Medical technology;
MAXIM, :-----------------------------for use in mixed signal ics;
austriamicrosystems AG. :----use in high reliability analog and digital applications in automotive and industrial markets;

MEMTEK,LLC has the right to develop, implement and license the technology and cell in applications where robustness, reliability, power and cost are prime concerns. It is also a very high temperature technology capable of full Military and Automotive range operation.

Other technology areas that MEMTEK is actively persuing are low current cells and High reliability cells for NAND applications. These include the CATE-TG cell and technology and the Location-Specific (Nitride) NAND cell and technology. Both are patent pending at this time.

The LS-NAND cell is unique in that it separates the program and erase functional areas of the NAND. This solves the erase limitations of the Nitrade based NAND structure and provides an independantly controllable erase operation of the Nitride based NAND cell.

MEMTEK,LLC is comprised of a group employees and partners who are experts in the area of Non-Volatile memory technology and design.

Caywood-trust which has full ownership and rights to the SimpeEE patents is one of the partners of MEMTEK. The Caywood Trust is represented, as Trustee by the General Partner, Mrs. Pamela Caywood. The other partners and contributors at this time are: Mr.Jagdish Pathak, General Partner- Design, and Layout; Mr. Mammen Thomas -General Partner- Technology,Process Integration, Quality and Reliability; Dr. Gobi Padmanabhan- Partner- Process Integration and Development;and Mr. Jim Payne- Design Manager- Design and lay out.

The average experience of the the employees of the company in semiconductor field is over 30 years.

The company also has design, process simulation, design simulation, layout and verification capabilities in house.

MEMTEK, LLC holds the right to license (with rights to sublicense) and use any and all of the Caywood patents and related patents belonging to the partners. We are able to provide any licensee with additional resources and support in the area of process integration, technology development, design, test, qualification, and reliability testing. In fact we can provide the complete project help to implement the embedded or stand alone non-volatile memory.

THE EMBEDDED TECHNOLOGY: The SimpleEE cells have been our primary emphasis in the past two years. The SimpleEE cell has been developed for single poly and double poly processes. The double poly cell can be considered one of the smallest high reliability EEPROM or flash cell for embedded application today. The emphasis of MEMTEK is the implementation of the Double-Poly SimpleEE cell and technology, while we will implement the Single-Poly technology selectively for selected customers.

Currently MEMTEK is looking for partner companies to develop and implement the patent pending high density technologies in addition to the embedded technology. As the interest levels in Nitride based NAND technology is high for future scaling of the high density technology, it is our aim to partner with major manufactureres to bring this cell and technology to the market.
